About Jay...
What set Jay Ketchem apart from other country singers? Jay was a true down-home country cowboy. In 2001, Jay was named the Champion All-Around Cowboy. Since then, this cowboy, and former Marine has found peace in writing about his personal experiences in life, family and traveling the world. What began as a way of expression has evolved into a way of life.
"His pursuit of a musical career led him to Nashville, where he became involved in the music scene both as a singer and a songwriter. As a result of his involvement in the music scene, Jay came into contact with producer, Russ Zavitson, who has worked with the likes of The Kinley's and The Wilkinsons, among various other country artists. With his musical ties in Nashville, Jay took a gamble and moved to Las Vegas to perform 6 nights a week for three years in the "Country Fever Show" at the infamous "Golden Nugget." After building his fan base in Vegas, Jay married and decided it was time for a change in scenery and pace, and moved to Grand Junction, Colorado to focus more on his family. While pursuing this aspect of his life and career, Jay began performing at Whiskey River three nights a week. Performing as the house band at Whiskey River, Jay has been able to develop an incredibly large and loyal fan base. A few years later after much success Jay heard the word no one ever wants to hear…. Cancer. But God was gracious enough to allow Jay to once again deliver a song like not many can. He is ever so thankful for Gods wonderful gift and intends to share it with as many people as he possibly can.
